They say first impressions are the most important, and this couldn’t be more true for lakes as well. Fortunately for me, the first hike that I went on in Jasper National Park was that of the Valley of Five Lakes. I didn’t really know what to expect other than seeing five beautiful lakes so needless to say I was quite impressed!
This lake pictured above was one of the first ones we saw on our hike. The sheer clearness and colour of the water just made our day. It was such a departure from the ordinary lakes that we are so often used to back home, that it really did make a beautiful first impression on us.
And to think other lakes would be just as gorgeous—if not more—we couldn’t wait to see what was in store for us. The Valley of Five Lakes hike comprises of 5 Km loop around five beautiful lakes that surprise you upon view as each have their own unique characteristic and shade of jade and blue. You can’t help but to just stay there and soak in the surroundings for a while. Expect to spend about two hours for the completion of this loop.
This just goes to show you how first impressions are just as important…even for lakes!
