That’s why I’m hosting another Winter Sunrise Meetup, this time at Niagara Falls! Get all the details below!

When: Family Day Weekend: Sunday February 19, 2023; Sunrise: 7:07am; Moonrise: 7:14am (1.1%)
Saturday February 18: Optional, based on interest
5:30pm: Social dinner at a restaurant TBD.
8:00pm: Photograph the fireworks and light show at Horseshoe Falls
8:30pm: Photograph the Festival of Lights and take in the Hot Chocolate Trail (optional)
Sunday February 19: Meetup
6:30am: Meet at Table Rock
7:07am: Sunrise along the Niagara River
Group photo, and free time to spend as you wish for the rest of the day. Leave as you wish.
The sun will rise down the Niagara River so we can see it rise above the river. The moon at 1.1% will also rise shortly after the sunrise. We will likely not be able to see it though with the brightness of the sun and small size of the moon.
Niagara Falls is So Far!
I’m glad you mentioned that. Since many people from Toronto might find it difficult to drive out to Niagara Falls in time for 6:30am, I have blocked off a very limited number of city view hotel rooms at the Marriott on the Falls with a discounted group rate of $199 plus fees and taxes!

Social Dinner on Saturday February 18, 2023, 5:30pm
This is completely optional and will only happen if there is enough interested people.
For those people who book a hotel room or are in the area on Saturday night, we can have a group dinner at a restaurant nearby. After dinner, we can take to the streets to photograph the fireworks and light show across Horseshoe Falls, and their Festival of Lights Trail, which ends that weekend!
Please email me to let me know if you would like to meet for dinner so I can book a reservation at a restaurant. Include how many people will be attending.
Winter Festival of Lights
The Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights is on until February 20, 2023! That means more chances to photograph pretty lights at night time if you book yourself a hotel room.
There is also the Hot Chocolate Trail that you can peruse at your leisure all day long.
After dinner we will all go as a group to see and photograph the fireworks and the beautiful lights on the Horseshoe Falls! We can continue to photograph the Festival of Lights thereafter before you retire for the evening. There are no shortages of things to photograph that weekend!

Hi, any good parking suggestion near Table Rock?
I’m not sure of any good ones but I usually just park at the main parking lot which is a little bit of a walk away. It’s also paid I believe. You might be able to find free street parking somewhere though but I don’t know of any at the moment.
