I was walking along the street one day with a friend of mine, looking for things to take pictures of. It was just an ordinary street that pedestrians use when we walked by a bus stop shelter. I didn’t think anything of it but my friend stopped to take a look. She started taking pictures as I kept walking. I glanced back noticing she wasn’t with me anymore, to find her looking up and taking a picture of the ceiling of the bus shelter.
I walked back and took a look at what she saw. The autumn leaves had fallen down and collected on top of the translucent roof of the shelter. Since the roof was on an angle, the leaves had slid and collected on one of the edges. With the sun shining brightly on the roof, it made for a great photo that brought out the true beauty of the individual leaves. The colours were so vibrant, and the shapes so evident. It was a pretty sight that I had completely missed since I didn’t think twice about taking a photo of a simple and ordinary bus shelter.
It just goes to show that you should always look where you least expect to look, if you want to find that something special kind of shot.
