I’m excited to partner with Nanlite to bring you this special educational workshop to learn all about LED/continuous lights. This will be a beginner’s workshop meant as an introduction to LED lighting for photographers and creatives looking to use continuous lights in their photos, content, and video production.

This is an exclusive event sponsored in part by Nanguang and led by Nikon Ambassador Taku Kumabe, featuring various Nanlite products including continuous spot lights, tube lights, and RGB lights. A model will be present to demonstrate the effects of these lights, and for the participants to practice shooting with.

We will be in a studio environment with a cyclorama (seamless white wall to floor).

Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras so they can take photos as we go through various setups with the lights.

*While a model will be present, this workshop is not meant to teach lighting techniques nor posing for portrait photography.

Who should attend?

As an introductory course to LED/continuous lighting, anyone who is curious about its features, benefits, and drawbacks should attend.

Photographers and videographers who want to explore the world of continuous lights will see how they differ from strobe lights.

This event will be of benefit to

  • Photographers who want to learn how continuous lights differ from strobe lights
  • Photographers and creatives looking to learn how continuous lights can be used for portrait photography
  • Creatives looking for lighting for their YouTube videos
  • Creatives looking to expand their creative outlets with the use of continuous lights in their photos and videos
  • Anyone looking to learn alongside like-minded individuals.

To ensure everyone has a chance to photograph with the lights, there will be a maximum number of participants of about 15.

What to bring

Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras so they can see the effects of continuous lights right in their own camera’s viewfinders. A small tripod is not necessary but may come in useful if we do longer exposures, although please be mindful of the participant next to you.

  • Mirrorless or dSLR cameras welcome
  • Spare batteries for your camera
  • Empty memory card
  • Small tripod (good to have but not necessary)
