Toronto Sunrise Meetup: 2026 DST Edition

Latest Update

See you Saturday, October 31 at 7:30am!

(If this page hasn’t been updated any closer to the meetup date, consider this the latest update!)

Join your fellow sunrise photographers in one of the latest sunrises of the year!

The 2026 DST Edition of the Toronto Sunrise Meetup is Saturday October 31, 2026, 7:30am. Dressing up in costume is optional. Just know there will be people with cameras around you. You’ve been warned!

We are moving yet again to a new location so we can have a totally different view of the sunrise in Toronto! Note the new location: Ireland Park. Nestled in the heart of downtown Toronto is this hidden gem where nature meets the city and the lake—with of course, stunning views of the city of Toronto!

How do I join?

Details

If you are interested in joining me and other like-minded photographers, here are the details.

Who: You

What: Toronto Sunrise Meetup — 2026 DST Edition

Where: Ireland Park (Google Link), Toronto

When: Saturday October 31, 2026, 7:30am, sunrise is 7:52am

Meet me at the X

Meet me at the X on the map, at 7:30am—or earlier if you can make it!

There are plenty of shooting opportunities along this stretch.

After the sun rises, we can take a group photo and for those interested, explore the surrounding areas for more photo opportunities.

Parking

There are several parking lots in the surrounding areas, but some may be expensive. Please check signs or look for parking elsewhere and walk down, or take public transit down to the park. The area is easily accessible by streetcar by Union Station or bus (along Bathurst St.).

Gear

Tripod is optional but may be handy in low light situations. Bring one if you think you’ll make use of it.

As for lenses, I always recommend a variety if you have them. A wide angle will allow you to include the surrounding areas while a telephoto lens will let you zoom in on a specific location of your choice.

The Toronto skyline and CN Tower are very close. See below for examples.

Notes

  • Taku will not be teaching as this is not an instructional photowalk—but you’re welcome to ask any questions!
  • There is no sun alignment with the CN Tower from here on this day.
  • Meetup will be on even in cloudy conditions! This is a perfect time to experiment with your photography.
  • Meetup may be cancelled or postponed only in the case of heavy rain or lightning. See latest update at the top of this page.

See you there!
