at the Palais Royale Ballroom

he recent Norah Jones concert held at the Palais Royale Ballroom in Toronto went very well. Although Norah seemed somewhat distracted for the first half of the concert with technical difficulties on her side, overall it carried out smoothly, complete with a host of new songs and an encore including classics such as Tennessee Waltz.

The venue, with no AC and fans rolling in the background, actually added to the atmosphere almost making me want to close my eyes and rest for awhile. I'm not really sure what that recent Toronto Star article meant, but at least for this concert she was very lively although some shyness was felt in between songs.

Norah Jones and me outside the Palais Royale BallroomWith no worries about having to catch a subway/bus ride home, I decided to see if she would ever come out after the concert. I waited outside the venue with a few other determined fans with cameras and pens at hand. Although it took a while, she eventually did come out for those fans that were still there. She gladly signed my CD, cover sleeve, and ticket and as well agreed to a picture with me. My first impression when I saw her outside: Wow, she didn't look that short on stage!
