What to theme my blog

Week after week, day after day, and hour after hour, for the life of me, I could not think of what to do in terms of redesigning my blog. Coming up with mildly entertaining inspirations, I was never quite satisfied with what my limited options brought me.

The regular wordpress themes that are available in countless numbers are all so generic, bland, and not so very exciting. Magazine styled premium themes are all the rage, and while they look really nice, I suppose it is more suited towards sites with more content than what I can offer here.

And then I came across this one magical site: http://www.upstartblogger.com.

At first look, this is a plain site with little or no excitement. Its the simplicity of the site that attracted me, and kept me reading for more. Interesting, I gathered, and somewhat promising for my site. It needs some code tweaking for sure, but afterwards, it can definitely be something unique.

At the same time, I came across another theme called Carrington. What’s this? A framework for WordPress themes? It sounded interesting, until of course I started reading the comments on how it wasn’t too compatible with the latest version of WP.

With so many ideas floating around in my not-so-large head, I was completely clueless about what I wanted to do with my blog.

And then it happened.

The inspiration that I have been looking for all this time. The one place with a plethora of ideas. The one idea that makes all the difference. And there it was, staring right at me. It was gorgeous. It was the future of my site.

Just not my blog!

But I am happy to say that I have now achieved something after all of this. I have decided on the direction that I would like to head with my blog – and my overall website. It’s simple. It’s elegant. It’s just what I’ve been looking for all this time.

Head over to this site: http://www.minimalsites.com.

It may not be anything to you, but it gave me the world of inspiration that I needed to upstart my noggin’ to finally do something after all this time.

Look for some exciting changes in the near future. I will be revamping my blog, and my overall website in a new direction that I hope you will enjoy, just as much as I will enjoy making it.

Here’s to a fresh, new 2009.
