Imagine
Taking a short break from work, I was reading up on the not-so-latest issue of Design Edge Canada Magazine, that I’ve always found interesting for the last several years. Reading up on real life designers in Canada and what they’ve been up to the last little while, or the latest design trends actually makes for a nice read from time to time. This issue, I was particularly intrigued with the article relating to the mobile market in Canada, and the design choices for their logo and branding. The Urban Brandification article was also an eye opener as I found out Toronto had spent $4 million on the branding of the city as “Toronto Unlimited.”
In the midst of my reading, I get a phone call. I didn’t recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail, as I wanted to finish reading the article. A short while later, I listened to my voicemail only to find out that the caller was from the publishers of Design Edge Canada Magazine.
Ooh.. Spooky!
It turns out that I had won a contest that I had entered a while back on their website. Who would have thought that I would actually win anything?! Surely not I. In any case, I am more than happy to take the prize, which just so happened to be a product that I was contemplating on buying myself: Adobe Lightroom 3.
While I won’t get the prize until much later, I’m still glad my math ability to answer the skill-testing question was in top notch form at the time.
For those of you not in the know, head on over to http://wwww.designedgecanada.ca to find out more about this wonderful free
publication.
(Now I’m off to buy my $50 million lottery ticket!)
