When you go to Algonquin Park in the summer, you will no doubt spend some time in the water. While I had canoed several times in the past, I had never kayaked. It’s a wonder why it took me so long to discover kayaking, as I enjoyed it thoroughly. With its quick acceleration, and ability to move and change directions rapidly, it was a great way to spend the day.
I started to kayak with little to no training and got the hang of it quickly. The only thing I didn’t know was how to recover should I ever tip over in the lake. I just hoped I wouldn’t have to find out the hard way.
Typically when people kayak, they don’t bring their cameras with them. But seeing the beauty around me, I knew I had to take mine with me. I was prepared as I brought my water resistant bag with me, which doubled as my dSLR bag while on the lake. With my iPhone shoved inside a $10 waterproof case and strapped around my neck, I was ready to take on the waters.
I really couldn’t get enough of the scenery around me and I wish I can do it again, sooner rather than later.
