I come home late from work tonight and turn on the tube to watch the final 15min. of American Idol. To my pleasure, I find that the final two contestants to sing for the evening are in fact my two top choices in the entire competition. The second last singer of the evening was Crystal Bowersox. Her rendition of Tracy Chapman’s Give Me One Reason with her guitar was superb, as always. And, as Simon always correctly points out, you can very well tell that she is getting more and more confident with each passing week.

The final contestant, Lilly Scott, also did not disappoint with her rendition of I Fall to Pieces. While she was impressive in her own means, Simon again correctly pointed out that she did not have that “wow” factor in her performance, which was unfortunate given that she did have the coveted final slot of the evening.

Nevertheless, my prediction from over a month ago, even before Hollywood week, still stands. The two finalists for the competition will be Crystal Bowersox and Lilly Scott.
