Why can’t I win the lottery?
Some week and a half ago I came to a realization that I would be prepared to do something, and would have no regrets doing it what-so-ever. Without getting into too much detail, I looked at what was going on with my life at the present moment and checked to see how things were going in all aspects of it. I was pleasantly surprised at my conclusion and admittedly somewhat excited about it as well.
It wont be for a while before I act upon it, but rest assured, I will be proud and prepared to do it when the time comes.

I went to the dentist the other day, for the first time in over a year. To my dismay, he informed me that I have not one, two, nor three, but four or five cavities – one, needing immediate attention, while others were less of importance. As it turns out, my previous filling had cracked, and another cavity had made its way surrounding the filling. This is what was causing the mysterious pain in my mouth; one which I could not tell if it was coming from the lower or upper half of my jaw. He kindly informed me that depending on the severity of this new cavity, he would either have to fill it normally, or result to a root canal, in which they would cut off the nerve of my affected tooth, and put a crown over it.
I listened to his explanation as thoughts of dollar bills floating out of my wallet danced in my head. Currently without any medical or dental insurance policies, I am in somewhat of a jam as I would need to pay this by myself. A rather scary thought when the dentist informs you that the root canal procedure will cost you about $500 and the crown itself will be another $950. Ouch! – That just hurt me more than in my mouth.
He was also kind enough to tell me that I grind my teeth at night. So much so that at one point, I actually chipped away a part of my bottom tooth. “A night guard will protect you from your grinding,” he says, as I didn’t even bother asking him how much one of those would cost me.
I have a doctor’s appointment coming up. I’m afraid to find out what else is wrong with me.

Just yesterday, on my way to work, I was unfortunate enough to drive over a stupid nail on the ground. It punctured my front tire and embedded itself in there real good. I only noticed it since it protruded out quite a bit and made a sound every time it hit the ground. I went to get this fixed today and was pleasantly surprised that the mechanic was able to do it within 10 min., and cost me just $15. Of course, had I not phoned the day prior, I would have been charged $20. It’s actually quite interesting to see the price variances from store to store:
Canadian Tire: $41 plus taxes
Goodyear Tire: $30 plus taxes
16th Collission and Tire: $10-$15, taxes included.
Hmm… which one would you go to?
