The last post of 2005!

It’s been a while since I was here in Toronto for the New Year’s celebration! This year I’ll be in my hometown welcoming in the new year with my friends. What will you be doing – or what did you do (to all my friends abroad)?

Celebrating a great year it has been, this will officially be my last post of 2005. From travelling abroad to making new friends, to starting my own venture, I have been fortunate enough to experience all that I have. I hope you have enjoyed your year thoroughly as well.

If not, then make 2006 the best year to date! Have a great end to 2005 and see you all again in the new year. Make those New Year’s Resolutions count!

All the best to you and yours for 2006 and beyond!

Yippee!

Off to New York City!

Well, on a rather spontaneous note, my family has decided to cancel our trip to Montreal on the 28th and head over to New York City tomorrow morning instead! I’d much rather go to NYC so I’m quite happy actually.

The four of us, including my brother’s gf will be driving down there for three days in which my dad hopes to eat nothing but good food. This trip is more of an eating trip than anything else as my dad’s only wish is to eat good food. Forget the sightseeing, forget the broadway plays, forget Times Square, it’s all about the good food.

So in the last minute, we have decided to go to NYC without even having a place to stay. Hopefully the weather will be nice for the drive there. I’m not quite worried though since we have 3 willing drivers amongts the 5 of us anyway.

I’ll be back in Toronto on the night of the 29th so I will still partake in any festivities that may arise here in Toronto for the New Years.

Until then, I hope you all had a great Christmas and have a great week everyone! Take good care of yourselves.

See you in a few days!

Taku wishes you a Merry Christmas!

To all my fellow blog readers from around the world, I hope you have a great Christmas day and that you enjoy yourself with your loved ones.

This year has been a great one as I’ve been fortunate enough to do many things including travelling, starting a new job, becoming an entrepreneur, making new friends here in Toronto and all over the world, renewing my passion for design and photography, all the while continuing to better myself as a person, and in the kitchen! ^^

I hope you had a fruitful 2005 everyone, and that you are equally looking forward to an even more enriching 2006.

I thank all of you who have supported me throughout my U&I Magazine venture, to all my Internet friends, and I do hope that we can meet sometime in the near future.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Eat lots and be merry!

Come back soon, as I will release the New Smaku’s World!

Chocolate Truffles

I’ve been neglecting my blog as of late but that doesn’t mean I’m not doing anything. I’ve been fairly busy these past few days as well. Seeing as this is the Christmas rush, many things are going on all at once, as I am sure you all know as well.

I wonder who actually reads this during Christmas season. Probably not too many. hehe…

We had a potluck lunch party today at work. The amount of food we had was enormous. So many people brought in so much food it was just way too much for all of us! And to think they do this every year too!

The company bought 18 boxes of pizza! And in each box, there’s two full sized pizza’s! That’s just nuts. I had my 4 slices – which was a lot more than what I usually eat – and in addition I had to try out the various other dishes that were brought in from everyone else. I didn’t actually bring anything today as this potluck slipped my mind.

I just finished making my first batch of chocolate truffles tonight. I’m not sure how they will turn out but hopefully they will be just as good as last year’s. It was a big hit last year so I’m trying my luck again this year. Only thing is, I found it a little more difficult to make it this year. I’m not quite sure why though.

Feel free to view my Flickr account for some tasty pictures of my truffles.

On another note, I will soon be redesigning my website for the new year. This is in anticipation of me getting my new digital camera. Now that I will be getting a dSLR, I will be able to take more spur of the moment shots and upload more photos on my site. I hope to make my site a little more interesting for people to come to.

2006 will be a new era for Smaku’s World. Stay tuned.

“It’s not called ‘The Apprenti’”

Everything was going so well for Randal until his final comment where he said, “it’s not called the Apprenti.” I felt the anger in Rebecca’s eyes as she shook her head in disgust as Randal celebrated his victory in the third instalment of Donald Trump’s The Apprentice.

I actually thought it would have been worthy enough to hire both Rebecca and Randal. Afterall, they were both interested in different projects. It would have been a perfect match for Mr. Trump.

I think Randal would have been seen in a better light had he suggested that Rebecca be hired as well. Afterall, if Donald Trump isn’t going to hire Rebecca, you know darn well that another company will snatch her up in no time. At 23, she has accomplished so much in her youthful life, she is tough, and is surely to be an absolutely great addition to any company.

If Donald Trump knew what’s best for him, he would think twice about this decision, and what Randal said this evening. But then again, maybe Trump saw something in Randal that made him make his decision in confidence. I’m not the one to argue with a billionaire!
