Diego & Newport Beach Nov. 20, 1999 - Nov. 26, 1999 My first business trip, which I really enjoyed, as it was my first time in California, and the job was something I enjoyed doing. It was a trip to remember as I went all over the place from Los Angeles to San Diego. Visited the more common areas such as Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Venice Beach, Olvera St., and even to Horton Plaza. Just driving around the freeways and seeing the sunset was something you can't even compare with in Toronto. |
Taken at the shoreline in downtown San Diego, where the boardwalk spans a great distance. |
Me posing on the boardwalk near the shores in downtown San Diego. |
Me on the top level of Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego. A really nice "open concept" shopping mall where everything is outside, without a roof. Something you never see in Toronto. I was actually really surprised to see something like this. Even the escalators weren't covered. I wonder what happens when it rains. |
Across the famous Chinese theatre, right in front of the Walk of fame, and all the foot and hand prints of the stars of Hollywood. |
If you look very carefully you'll see the famous "Hollywood" sign in the background. I'm standing outside the parking lot of the restaurant that was featured in the movie "As Good As It Gets", when Jack has to buy a jacket in order to enter the place. |
Venice Beach, with all the palm trees, sand, and tonnes of shoppes and food stations lined along the sidewalks, filled with roller blades, and cyclists. Can you believe this is November weather?! |
Looking the other way from where I'm standing. Green grass, more palm trees, and even more places to roller blade and shop, and eat. |
A really nice view of palm trees surrounding the streets of Newport Beach. Really close to "the point" where people sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Absolutely gorgious. |
A really nice view taken from a lookout atop, near the area where I worked. Newport Beach looks really nice from up here! Just on the other side of the road is the harbour with all the boats. Sitting from the desk where I was sitting at the office, you can see a really great sunset. Two pictures in one! |
