Liberia,
Costa Rica |
Somewhere deep inside the forest lies humungous trees with even larger roots. I was practically inside this tree when the picture was taken. |
My family looking out as we stopped by a place where we thought was the famous hotel run by the Canadian. |
Our second last day in Costa Rica was filled with a Canopy tour up high above the trees of the rainforest. You can see here the cables running from treetop to treetop. That's where you glide with your harness on. |
My brother coming in for a landing in the "Superman" pose. |
Look, a parakeet. Funny little fella blends in with the environment. It actually took me a while to see these guys. |
Back on the streets of Cocos. This time we actually bought some coffee... and boy, did we ever buy them! |
The souvenir shops line on the sides of the street leading to the beach. This place, is actually where I bought my hammock. It was tough, but fun communicating with the salesgirl as she understood no English. |
Here's another look from the balcony of my parents room. You can see the ocean in the background. |
If you look carefully, you can see me peering out of the balcony of my room. |
Here's the sunset as seen from the balcony of our ocean-view room. Absolutely gorgeous. This picture was taken with my digital camera. Notice how green it looks? |
The same scenery taken with my point-and-shoot camera and scanned with my scanner. Looks a little better, doesn't it? |
The morning of the last day in Costa Rica I took a walk out on the rocks nearby the beach of the resort. That's me looking out to the ocean thinking I don't want to leave today. |
We had to wait for about 2 hours at the airport for the plane to actually arrive. It was hot. Really hot. And somewhat boring too. |
Skyservice. That's the airplane that we went with. Loading on and off the plane without the bridge is always nice. Feels like you've come to a hot and exotic place. |
Although not too visible here, the airplane was steaming with fog everywhere coming from the air conditioner. Since it was so hot outside, it was like being in a sauna in the airplane as it was really misty inside. |
There's the Liberian International Airport, touted as being the largest airport in the World. The lookout tower is standing straight, while the building with the red roof is the waiting area and the gift area. |
Costa Rica as seen from above. I have no idea where this is though. |
I believe this is the northwestern coast of Central America. That bay on the bottom of the picture is (I think) the bay where resort was located. |
Here's another view of the coast. Now that I look at it, it really does look like the bay where I stayed. |
A beautiful cloudscape with sunlight breaking out of it was a sight to see. |
More fluffy little clouds. It's hidden behind the wing of the airplane, but the huge clouds towering over the rest of the clouds were a sight to see. |
Oooh. Here we have those towering clouds with the sunsetting in the background. Niiiiiice. |
Although I'm not a coffee drinker by any means, I must have been drinking two to three cups a day while I was there. One for breakfast, one for lunch if I could, and one to end the evning off. Britt coffee is what was served at our resort, and it was amazing from the first sip to the last. The smell was incredible as well. You just can't beat it. And to think that coffee is Costa Rica's second largest export product. |
